buckle up, this is going to be wordy ! i try to look through every blog, but this is a private and selective blog, meaning i am mutuals only and slightly choosier as to who they are. i say this because i also have other blogs and real life commitments to tend to, so i don't always have time to be here and check new followers, and when i am, i want to not be #stressed. i may also not be super consistent with approaching others first due to shyness / anxiety, but i have a lot of love and caps lock to give !
that said, if i follow you, it means without a doubt i enjoy your writing / would like to write with you, but no pressure. if i don't, it's unlikely that it's anything personal against you ! on that note, i'm still deciding how i feel about following duplicates — i love them, but i have waves of insecurity, so i may not follow unless we speak ooc or yours is a multimuse. also, as a general rule, i'll probably unfollow if i'm not followed back within a week or so, because i feel a bit like i'm encroaching if i stick around.
i am oc / crossover friendly ! i have lots of verses and am willing to work in new ones. while i am private, my inbox is the exception, as it's always open to anyone ( meaning memes, ooc chat, etc. ), but i may not always get to memes from non - mutuals as mutuals will take priority. rather than im, i ask that you use my inbox for ooc chat if we aren't mutuals !

at this time, my rey is canon compliant — specifically meaning that i accept what 'the last jedi' revealed about her parentage. she is not a skywalker / solo / kenobi / etc., her parents are unrelated to the story, and she has no family name.
this could be subject to change if episode ix retcons that, but for now, i'm fairly firm that this + film canon is it for me for a number of reasons. occasionally i may do plots that call for rey as a skywalker or a kenobi, but those are contained to those threads, and if you're looking for that, please ask rather than assume that relation and do not force it on me.
everything else about rey is based on my own personal meta. it goes without saying i do not own her, nor am i affiliated with disney, lucasfilm, daisy ridley, etc.
note: it is highly unlikely that i will ever write dark!rey / empress rey. grey jedi rey is an idea i am all up for exploring, and the one i see her most fitting into ( there are some aspects of the dark about her ), but personally, after enduring everything she has and still aligning with the light, that light / grey area is the core of her characterization to me.
for those wondering, i write rey as pansexual / demiromantic, but i prioritize chemistry. i won't sacrifice who she is just for the sake of romance, i repeat, do not ask me to write an oc with daisy's face. i’m not saying we have to plot to the ends of the earth and back ( which i am terrible at, honestly ), but there will be no forcing ships. rey is a fighter with trust and abandonment issues, so oftentimes, unless we're writing well into the established ship, you may be met with resistance.
with canon muses, i'm partial to finnrey, jessrey, damerey, etc. i do also ship reylo in some contexts ( primarily benrey ), but that doesn’t necessarily mean i will ship with every kylo / ben. and although i say benrey, i will tag any of it as 'reylo /' simply as a catch - all, though only non - roleplay posts ( gifsets, etc. ). i also try not to follow anyone who is expressly against it in case they follow back ( unless they follow me first, in which i assume they will have read these rules and respect them ) and i risk making anyone feel uncomfortable. if i make a mistake in that, or you have followed me and want out of potentially seeing any reylo threads, please feel free to soft / hard block me ! whichever you feel is necessary. your comfort comes first, and the message will be received, i promise.
for personal reasons / comfort, i will no longer write on discord. an exception to this might be a group server with friends or someone i trust implicitly, but otherwise, it will be used only for ooc.
please refrain from god - modding. i understand it within reason — time skips / small doses in starters to get the ball rolling / etc. — but anything more and i ask that you either run it by me, or just don’t.
that said, if i write you a starter or reply that you feel you can't work with, let me know ! i live for writing starters, so we can always chat about them, and i can potentially find ways to rework anything so replying is easier. also, feel free to continue memes into threads ! all i ask is you do not reblog the ask, but rather create a new post and either link back to the ask or reference it so i know.
i may occasionally drop threads or memes due to a lack of muse or motivation. i don’t mind if you do, too. more than likely i’ll post about a mass drop of threads when i do ( though be aware, sometimes i might not ). otherwise, even if i haven’t replied yet, chances are it’s in my drafts. i am a big hoarder of things. feel free to start new things with me or nudge me if it’s been more than a month ! though please use common sense and refrain from actually harassing me for things; this is a hobby and if i feel harassed, that may result in me taking even longer or dropping it altogether.
due to past experiences, if i feel or suspect that you are guilt tripping me / expressing jealousy about my writing with my friends more than you, there is a high probability i will drop your threads due to that attitude making me anxious. i may even unfollow or block you. i pride myself on trying to be kind and positive to everyone, but that sort of behavior makes me feel i'm being controlled / taken advantage of, and like rey, i am not a fan.
i personally do not have any triggers, but if you wish for me to tag something, let me know ! ( you can ask me to tag certain posts for ships, too. ) i tag triggers as ‘trigger /’, and nsfw with both ‘nsfw’ and ‘nsfw /’.
i am 21+ so adult content could very well appear, but it will always be tagged and smut will, for the most part, be put under a read more. i also refuse to write smut with anyone not 18+, and i may not even write it with anyone else most days, if at all. there are several verses in which rey could be underage, so obviously smut will not happen then. if you try, i will block you. i also do not write threads detailing rape, incest / incestuous themes, racism, homophobia / biphobia / transphobia, and nazism.
i haven't had much use for the block button as of yet, but if i soft block you, i ask that you let it go. i try to check my following list thoroughly every so often, and will try to reach out if i notice i have accidentally unfollowed. otherwise, i promise you're not missing out on much. if you pester me about my reasons, i will block you full stop. if this seems rude, i apologize, but if i've had to use the block button in any capacity at all, that usually means i have become extremely uncomfortable / anxious. please respect that.
i generally use small static icons of my own creation — credit to hollow - art and glorysoaked for the base icons and psd — and write in small + sub text. don’t feel as if you have to match my formatting though ! if you have issues seeing, let me know ( unless it's written into your rules, which i will make a mental note of ). i’m also flexible on reply length so long as you give me something to work with.

au, thread dependent setting. rey trains as a proper jedi padawan, in a temple with a master and lessons that last longer than a few days. this could fit in with the timeline of the prequels, though in that case rey may begin to explore the grey jedi order ( re: the prequels mythology being strict and attachment - free ). aged 13–18+.
au, thread dependent setting. her parents do not sell her, instead bringing her along on their underhanded quests for more drinking money. rey becomes a junk trader herself, in the hopes she’ll pull together enough credits to build a better life for them — whether they want it or not. aged 19+.
canon divergent, thread dependent setting. in which han solo does not die, and rey eventually accepts han’s offer to work on the falcon alongside him and chewbacca, adding a third to their band of smugglers. alternatively, han and chewie locate the falcon on jakku, and rey leaves with them. aged 19+.
au, thread dependent setting. though her parents did sell her, rey was fortunate enough that a member of the resistance happened to be passing through the system. they intervened, and rey has since grown up alongside the rebel cause. aged 6–19+.
au, thread dependent setting. think naboo and padme's royal guard of lookalike handmaidens. rey could potentially be a relative of sabe's, or have simply grown up trained to the task of protecting and doubling for royalty, being that she is quick, capable and force sensitive. aged 19+.
future canon au, thread dependent setting. after the resistance defeats the first order for the last time, peace and balance in the galaxy is restored. rey celebrates by settling down on a planet of blue and green, slowly working to rebuild a new jedi order in honor of luke and the legends which kept her hope alive as a girl. aged 23+.

au, canon divergent. set on tion, a planet in the outer rim territories, and based upon this post. rey does not grow up on the desert world of jakku, but rather, the water-covered world of tion — where, when the second death star's hyperdrive regulator was destroyed, a sizable piece of it was sent through a hyperspace wormhole and crashed there. she still scavenges the partially submerged ruins, though she often takes up trading as tion is on a route. her parents, being junk traders, left her with the blobfish, unkar plutt, on their way along it. plutt still lords over the waterlocked niima outpost, and much of rey's experiences from jakku remain the same, if flexed to fit this verse. aged 19+.
au, canon divergent. set on either jakku or tion ( see the above verse for more on the latter ), the young scavenger rey has labored tirelessly for years — as unkar plutt's righthand. she has ensured her place with him by well - acquainting herself with the ins and outs of his business and making certain it couldn't run as smoothly without her help — all the while slowly but surely taking it over from the inside. depending on the thread, she may still be building up to a coup, or she may be establishing a newer, fairer system in the outpost that looks out for the survival of everyone, known throughout the desert as the swordfish that would replace plutt's blobfish reputation. aged 19+.
modern au, setting is flexible / thread dependent ( default is a small desert town called jakku ). rey is a young scholarship student at university, her major undeclared ( eventually engineering ). she works at unkar plutt's car garage ( as he took her in years ago for the fostering checks ) as a mechanic’s apprentice to help make ends meet after her scholarship ( though she could move on to han's, etc. ). she has so much more freedom now that she’s a legal adult, far removed from the foster system, that she doesn’t know where to start or what to do. general plot may differ from thread to thread.
essentially encompasses all period / historical au's. can be set in various eras throughout history, though actual location is thread dependent. rey's occupation may vary. aged 19+.
modern au, thread dependent setting. during her search for her birth parents, rey learned that they had long been dead since abandoning her. quickly running out of options but still desperate, she arranges a meeting of sorts, short of attempting to conduct a seance herself. having always discounted the paranormal, rey hadn't thought much of meeting with a medium — until the session awakened something in her, realizing her sensitivity to the spiritual world. aged 19+.
post-modern au, thread dependent setting ( potentially twd verse, but can encompass various plots ). orphaned at a young age, rey learned what it took to survive in the world long before it ever appeared it would end. standing in the aftermath of the apocalypse, it seems she'll have to relearn a few hard lessons. her backstory is essentially identical to her regular modern verse, in which she went to school / worked in unkar plutt's garage / etc. aged 19+.
modern au, thread dependent setting. rey was orphaned at a young age, her unknown parentage leaving her blood status uncertain — though either way it was clear she possessed magic. aged 15–19+.
modern au, set in new york city. primarily mcu based. igh, the same genetic editing research facility that experimented on jessica jones, took in rey when her parents essentially sold her to them, dangerously malnourished as she was. as a result of the experiments, she gained telekinetic / telepathic abilities ( not unlike how the force works ). however, following them, she was given away and adopted by a man named unkar plutt, who simply needed the labor in his shop. rey knew she was different, but it wasn't until a few years later that she realized just how much and why. aged 19+.
modern au, thread dependent setting. several years into the kaiju war, rey was left behind by her parents during an attack on southampton, england. following the devastation, she remained in the area, holding onto hope that her parents would circle back and search for her in the rubble. as the years would go by, however, she would raise herself on the streets, scavenging old parts of fallen jaegers and selling them to the highest bidders, all while relishing in stories of the mythic machines. she dreams of piloting a jaeger herself, slowly but steadily scrounging up parts to build a mock-up of her own — not that she'd leave town even if she finished it. aged 19+.
au. orphaned on a non-federation planet wrought with civil war, rey was eventually offered asylum by the federation when she assisted a team from the uss trieste in retrieving a federation ambassador from the battlefields on her world. she then went on to attend starfleet academy, fast tracking in engineering and xenolinguistics, before joining the crew on the uss enterprise - d as an engineering ensign. may potentially flex to fit voyager, discovery, and recent films. aged 19+.
